Google Maps developing the Great Indoors

We at 07 Heaven Design like to bring you the latest news and technology. This caught our eye. Google will soon be bringing the blue dot indoors. Google is going to be bringing in maps of airports, select malls and stores in the States and Japan to begin with.

Google have obtained floor plan data from all of the participating entities, which Google’s Steve Lee says are “very excited” to be a part of. Companies include  Macy’s, Home Depots and all American IKEA stores.

Southend SEO – Google Ad keywords

07 Heaven Design thought it interesting to post this info that we found. The below pie chart shows a break down of how much Google earns from advertising. It is thought that Google generates more than around US$30 billion a month from advertising, which makes up 96.5% of its revenue. The top keyword category, which accounts for around 25% of Google’s ad revenue, is ‘insurance’. Each time an ‘insurance’ Google ad gets clicked on, the advertiser pays about US$50.

Advertising accounts for about 96% of Google’s revenue; while the search giant makes more than US$32 billion every month from this type of revenue stream, and the figures are continuing to climb.

Google Places launches new bulk listing management tool

Google Places has announced changes and new features to its bulk listing management tool that it hopes will make it easier for business owners with multiple locations (and local search marketers who manage multiple locations).

The changes affect both the upload and management processes. Here are the primary points from Google’s blog post:

  • Edit one or more of your listings’ data at once
  • Search through your listings, filtering by specific information or for listings with errors
  • Upload new listings using a data file or by adding them individually within the interface
  • Tell us how we can improve this new interface by clicking the “Give Feedback” link

Google “Trusted Stores”

Google is testing the effect of adding “Trusted Stores” badges to qualifying advertisers’ search ads, as it considers deploying the badges more widely.

Trusted Stores is a program Google announced last year which aims to improve consumer confidence in ecommerce by certifying that stores with the badge stick to a minimum standards in customer service and even offer purchase protection for buyers.

To be a part of the program, etailers must apply and provide a range of data to Google. To qualify, Trusted Stores must have a track record of on-time shipping and reliable customer service.

Google said the advertiser’s participation (or not) in Trusted Stores won’t affect ad rank in the Adwords auction.
